HALLMARK COLLEGE IBADAN…breeding future leaders with the fear of God

May 27 has come and gone, but the memory will always linger on us at Get Fired. It is one of such memory that we bring to you in this profile.
During the planning stage of the May 27 programme, we met a wonderful citadel of learning, HALLMARK COLLEGE, situated at plot 11 – 14 Executive layout, Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan. We were there to secure their permission to have their school as the host of Get Fired, May 27 edition, but we left with a lasting impression. We decided to go some steps further by going beyond our business, to knowing more about the school and trust me, we weren’t disappointed. Some structures caught our attention, and those structures we x-ray below.
Life and Leadership Skills Class
At HALLMARK COLLEGE, there is a life and leadership skills class where virtues are impacted into HALLMARK students. With teachings such Decision Making, Value Clarification et al, we found there is a good structure for the development of Total Man at this citadel of learning. They do not treat this as a mere activity as students writes examination on the teachings every term, just to measure their transformation. The class holds every Friday for 2hours.
1 to 12 Teacher-Student ratios
Also, at HALLMARK COLLEGE, there is a 1 to 12 Teacher to Student ratios system where a teacher monitors closely, the wholesome progress and development of 12 students, calling them to attention and order when and where necessary, giving tips on development of their potentials and capacity.
Trust me; this is one school you want your child to attend. And to think they do not have a big physical structure some other schools boasts of, yet, they are mighty. That is why at Get Fired we call them the proverbial “David.” To them, education is not business as usual; they truly care about the tomorrow of their students. Their teachers teach from the heart and not from the head. If you want to know what this means, then stay close to Get Fired. Sincerely, what we experienced at HALLMARK COLLEGE gave us hope that our dreams are not an illusion after all.
But then; we met with some shock at some other places, which we will be talking about in our subsequent features. What we can say here for now is that, many of our educational administrators should have nothing to do with school administration any longer, as they only boast of archaic and obsolete administrative skills, yet they resist change like an extremist. This we believe is not too good for Nigeria’s quest to reposition her destiny. While we do not advocate mass retrenchment of such administrators, this may be the last resort should they continually reject the opportunity to be 21st century compliant.
Should you want to get personal with HALLMARK COLLEGE IBADAN, feel free to contact them via G.P.O Box 4244 Dugbe, Ibadan. Tel: 08166537492, 08038081505, 08062526274. Long live Nigeria, long lives our dream.
